Under the provisions of the Electoral Code, every campaign material should include the electoral committee’s designation. In the case of Law and Justice, the registered name of the committee was: ELECTORAL COMMITTEE LAW AND JUSTICE. This wording should therefore appear on every poster, leaflet and banner. The PiS logo alone is not sufficient.
Proper labels appeared on the advertising materials of other PiS candidates, including Bolesławiec MP Szymon Pogoda. However, they were absent from Michał Dworczyk’s advertisements. In addition, one of the former minister’s banners was hung on the fence of the Piarist school in Bolesławiec. It was put there without the school’s consent and also violated the provision banning campaigning directed at students on school grounds, as the fence stood on the premises of the educational institution. The banner remained there for several days; eventually, the school removed it itself.
We asked Michał Dworczyk’s office to contact us in order to clarify the matter of the banners. No one responded.
Provisions of the Electoral Code:
- Art. 108 § 2 – Electoral campaigning directed at students is prohibited on school premises.
- Art. 109 § 2 – Campaign materials should contain a clear designation of the electoral committee from which they originate.
