– The parents of the children who were allegedly harmed notified the Police about the case. They claimed that the educators insulted and humiliated the children, frightened them, and also hit them and grabbed them by the neck – says Liliana Łukasiewicz, press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica. – The materials obtained indicate that some of the children may have been touched in intimate places.
She adds:
To date, the following steps have been taken in the case: the parents of the minors were questioned as witnesses; recordings of the children’s statements and the teachers’ conduct, made by the parents, were secured; the court was submitted with the necessary request to question the minor victims in the presence of a psychologist; and the Legnica branch of the Board of Education was asked to conduct an inspection at the facility.
She also adds:
Numerous other procedural steps are planned to establish whether the children were in fact harmed, how many children were affected, and who is personally responsible.
The proceedings are being conducted in rem. No one has been charged. The notification concerns several caregivers.
