The “Going Global – Lower Silesian Economic Diplomacy” project, implemented in 2020–2022, involved a total of 145 entrepreneurs who held nearly 400 business meetings as part of 13 foreign missions. According to estimates provided by project participants, the value of contracts concluded to date has exceeded PLN 5.3 million, while information about the project and the companies involved successfully reached more than 6.4 million people. The next edition of “Going Global” is planned for the next two years. The project will continue the best practices and experience of the previous edition. The regional government wants to respond to the real needs of Lower Silesian entrepreneurs, listen to their views and take their feedback into account.

“Lower Silesian entrepreneurs have exceptional potential, and they want to grow and enter global markets. That is why we decided to continue one of the first regional programmes in the country to guarantee such development,” says Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. “Among us are entrepreneurs who took advantage of the opportunities we offered in previous years. I am convinced that another edition of the Going Global project will bring many benefits to Lower Silesian companies and the entire regional economy that we are building thanks to them,” the marshal adds.

To ensure that the next edition of the project responds even better to the needs and priorities of Lower Silesian entrepreneurs, the Foreign Cooperation Department of the Marshal’s Office, which leads the project, organised special surveys for Lower Silesian entrepreneurs interested in participating. Thanks to these surveys and subsequent dedicated recruitment processes, participants are selected in a way that enables the best possible match between the business profile of individual companies and specific trade events where they will be able to present themselves.

“We are launching the new edition with a mission to Toronto, where our regional entrepreneurs will present themselves at Collision 2024 among potential partners from around the world. These will mainly be companies from the IT, ICT, space and biotechnology sectors, which shows that we can hold our own among the best,” adds Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Canada’s Technology Olympics

The first major event is ahead of us: the “Collision 2024” trade fair in Toronto, known as the Technology Olympics. Last year, it brought together 230 partners, 865 investors and 36,000 participants from 118 countries. The event is global in scope, and its aim is to show how technology affects business and society. The fair features presentations, discussions and debates on innovation, diversity and transformation. Speakers include leaders from the banking, finance, consulting, healthcare and education sectors.

The event’s strategic partners include government institutions and industry organisations, and it is aimed mainly at sectors related to new technologies, medicine, Industry 4.0, natural resources and the green transition. Lower Silesian entrepreneurs who will have the opportunity to present themselves at the event and establish valuable business contacts include CRP EDU Sp. z o.o., OGMA, Identt Sp. z o.o. and Soft Power Sp. z o.o.

Going Global 4.0 provides for the organisation of 28 foreign trade missions for approximately 300 entrepreneurs. The project is financed from the budget of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the European Funds for Lower Silesia for 2021–2027.
