That day will offer plenty of culinary delights, including, of course, pita served by the commune’s Rural Housewives’ Circles. As is now tradition, there will also be workshops on making it. Andrzej Miżdal will cook a Balkan cauldron. One stand will offer honey for sale, while at another visitors will be able to drink Bosnian-style coffee. There will also be an exhibition of traditional crafts and a demonstration of wicker weaving.
Tourist organisations from the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Poles from Prnjavor will present their stands. During the Balkan Festa, it will also be possible to receive a copy of the book “Gumjera – My Polish Home”, written by Danijel Kovč.
As tradition dictates, guests and residents will be invited to take a joint commemorative photograph. The artistic programme will end at approximately 7:00 p.m., after which a dance party will begin.
The festival stage will primarily feature this year’s star, ANIP “Mladost”. In addition to the guests from Banja Luka, audiences will see the choir and instrumentalists from the “Konstantin Babić” Music School in Prnjavor, the Bolesławiec Land Song and Dance Ensemble, the Ocice Singing Ensemble, the “Echoes of the Balkans” Ensemble, GKUD Pronija from Prnjavor, the Herbut Family Band and the “Jutrzenka” Commune Song and Dance Ensemble. This year, short films titled “Born in Yugoslavia” will be shown between the ensembles’ performances.
