TESCO construction will begin in June and is expected to continue until October. The investor wants the hypermarket to open before the period of increased Christmas shopping.
Talks are currently nearing completion concerning the takeover of nearby land from the allotment holders’ association. Acquiring part of the allotments is intended to enable the construction of access roads to the car park and the hypermarket.
The site of the former bus depot on Gałczyńskiego Street was transferred to the investor in exchange for Plac Księdza Jerzego Popiełuszki. The aforementioned square is located in the city centre, between Asnyka and Łukasiewicza streets. Changing the location of the investment required an amendment to the city’s spatial development plan.
