On Saturday, April 6, BKS Bolesławiec hosted Zenit Międzybórz at Rajska Street as part of matchday 23 of the Lower Silesian fourth-division competition. It was Bolesławiec’s first home match of the spring. The fans who attended the stadium heard the voice of the new licensed announcer. This is Dariusz Sawiński, who joined BKS from ZKS Górnik Złotoryja this round and welcomed everyone on Saturday.
From the beginning of Saturday’s match, our team’s full commitment was evident. The support of the BKS fans could also be heard; they spared no effort to encourage the players. BKS were highly motivated to earn their first points of the round, but it was the visitors who created the scoring chances. They had several opportunities, but lacked an effective finish. BKS, meanwhile, did not pose much of a threat in front of Zenit’s goal.
The situation changed in the second half. Our team’s moves began to come together. In the 58th minute, BKS took the lead. Kamil Posadowski showed great cleverness in the penalty area. The player dribbled past his opponents and sent the ball into the net. Three minutes later, the visitors responded effectively. Following a free kick, the BKS players failed to mark Szymon Rusiecki in the penalty area, and the score was 1–1.
The score did not change until the end of the match, although both sides had their chances. BKS goalkeeper Jakub Mazur made two excellent interventions. As time passed, the game became increasingly heated. The referee showed several cards. For the final 10 minutes, our team played with 10 men (Michał Kapusz received a second yellow card and, ultimately, a red card).
In the closing moments, Bolesławiec had a chance to tip the balance in its favor, but a shot by Batek Zapiór struck the visitors’ crossbar. BKS Bolesławiec – Zenit Międzybórz 1–1 (0–0). After the match, the players thanked the fans for their support, which could be heard throughout the game.
BKS Bolesławiec’s second team also played on Saturday. The reserves lost 0–4 away to Sparta Zebrzydowa. Sparta’s goals were scored by Robert Kumoś (2), Konrad Skóra and Filip Mandziuk.
