Dawid Janczyk is a 36-year-old striker, a former Poland international and former player of clubs including Legia Warszawa, CSKA Moscow, Korona Kielce, Piast Gliwice and Sandecja Nowy Sącz.
We reported in February 2023 on Dawid Janczyk’s high-profile transfer to GKS Cement Raciborowice. At the time, the striker joined Raciborowice from Sadownik Waganiec (the Kuyavian-Pomeranian district league) and was expected to help the Raciborowice team secure promotion. Playing for GKS was also intended as a form of therapy and to help the footballer in his struggle with alcohol problems.
At the beginning of the autumn round of the 2023/2024 season, Dawid Janczyk stopped attending training sessions and lost his place in the lineup, as could be read on the Raciborowice club’s Facebook profile. It later emerged that the absences were caused by family and personal problems. The footballer subsequently returned to training.
Media reports now say that Dawid Janczyk has found work at a management agency, where he is responsible for scouting young players, and that he is on trial at LKS Szaflary.
As the podhaleregion.pl website reports:
Janczyk has already played three friendly matches for the fifth-tier club, scoring two goals.
He joined Szaflary through cooperation with Krzysztof Wojtanek and Your Future Management Agency, where he is responsible, among other things, for scouting young players and promoting them to higher leagues.
