The voters’ verdict of October 15 has been implemented. The PiS (United Right) government has come to an end. The opposition (the Civic Coalition, Third Way and The Left) is taking power in Poland.

In Monday’s vote (December 11), Donald Tusk was designated prime minister by the Sejm. 248 MPs voted in favor. 201 MPs voted against. No one abstained.

On Tuesday (December 12), the new prime minister presented the government’s action plan. A vote on selecting the new Council of Ministers was held the same day. The new government, headed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, won a vote of confidence. As on Monday, 248 MPs voted in favor. 201 MPs voted against. No one abstained.

On Wednesday, December 13, a ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace during which the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, appointed Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the Council of Ministers.
