The Sejm is in session. In the vote that has just concluded, the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki failed to secure sufficient support.

MPs from PiS who were present in the chamber—187 people—as well as three MPs from the Kukiz’15 parliamentary group voted to support the two-week government, 190 MPs in total.

The opposition voted against it: Civic Coalition, Poland 2050, PSL, The Left and Confederation, 266 votes in total. No one abstained.

The Sejm will now move on to the so-called second step, in which the government of Donald Tusk will have a chance to receive a vote of confidence.
