She wrote to us, the Reader:

As I realized when trying to get vaccinated against COVID, nobody knows anything, including the Patient Rights Ombudsman at Szpital Bolesławiec. They keep referring people to one another. (...)

She added:

The matter is extremely serious because, according to information from the medical services, 8 out of 10 tests for Kraken are positive—people are very ill!

As the Ministry of Health informs us, from December 6 “it is possible to get vaccinated with the Nuvaxovid vaccine updated for the XBB.1.5 subvariant. Vaccination referrals will be issued overnight.”

The ministry adds:

We recommend the Nuvaxovid vaccine as the next booster dose for people in the so-called risk groups:

  • over 60 years of age,
  • over 12 years of age with immune deficiencies or comorbidities increasing the risk of severe COVID-19,
  • healthcare workers who have direct contact with patients or infectious material.

Vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge.

Details are available on the Ministry’s website.

Will it be possible to get vaccinated at Szpital św. Łukasza in Bolesławiec?

We were able to establish that last week Szpital św. Łukasza received a communication from the Minister of Health stating that for now the facilities authorized to administer vaccinations are primary healthcare facilities and pharmacies. The Bolesławiec county hospital currently does not have permission to open a vaccination point.

If the ministry’s guidelines change, Szpital św. Łukasza will certainly open such a point. For now, however, it cannot do so.
