On Saturday (16 October), BKS hosted IV-league newcomers Piast Zawidów. From the beginning of the match, the hosts imposed their style of play. Saturday’s match was probably the first game of the ongoing season in which our players were “not afraid” to shoot at the opponents’ goal. In the first half, BKS created many dangerous attacks. Błażej Rajchel, Kamil Mielnik and Chrystian Serkies took shots at Gilewski’s goal. However, a goal had to wait until the 28th minute. Emil Nowakowski took the free kick. After the goalkeeper’s uncertain clearance, Chrystian Serkies pounced on the ball, making it 1:0 for BKS. In the 37th minute, the same player fired a powerful shot at Piast’s goal, but the ball hit the post. In the 45th minute, Karol Bednarowski shot at the Zawidów goal, but the ball went straight to the goalkeeper. In the first half, the visitors had little to say. BKS played faster, enjoyed more possession and took incomparably more shots than Piast.
After the break, Zawidów set about making up the deficit. In the 47th minute, it was 1:1. Following a corner, Tomasz Grabowski scored with a header. In the 61st minute, Łukasz Filipiak produced a fine, technical free-kick shot. However, the Piast goalkeeper managed to tip the ball, which was heading for the top corner, over for a corner. Four minutes later, BKS regained the lead. Kamil Mielnik took the corner. The ball grazed Łukasz Filipiak’s head and reached Błażej Rajchel. The latter’s header gave the visiting goalkeeper no chance. Until the end of the match, the Bolesławiec side created several more dangerous attacks, but the score did not change. BKS defeated Piast Zawidów 2:1. The team fully deserved to win the match. Praise should also go to the visiting goalkeeper, who saved several very difficult and accurate shots. After the match, deputy district governor Stanisław Chwojnicki once again rewarded Chrystiana Serkiesa with new football boots. In home matches, the deputy district governor rewards the players who score the first goal. In the match against Piast Zawidów, the first goal for BKS was scored by Chrystian Serkies.
