– I have been a politician for many years; I am an athlete. Never in my life have I been so happy about this supposedly second place. Poland has won, democracy has won! We have removed them from power. Just three months ago, we were not sure of this. Even yesterday, people came up to me and asked whether you would really manage – said the chairman of Platforma Obywatelska Donald Tusk.
– Congratulations to our partners from the democratic opposition. We have achieved something great together – Tusk said.
The preliminary exit polls indicate that the former opposition may win 248 seats in the 460-seat Sejm, giving it a majority.
According to the exit-poll data, Koalicja Obywatelska is expected to receive 163 seats, Trzecia Droga 55, and Lewica 30. Konfederacja is expected to win 12 seats, while PiS is projected to receive 200.
