The end of unlimited driving licences is approaching. Drivers will have to replace them with licences valid for a fixed period. The entire replacement process will begin on 19 January 2028 and last until 18 January 2033. The replacement cost is PLN 100 plus a 50-grosz registration fee.
According to interia.pl:
After 2033, all driving licences in Poland will have an expiry date. Normally, it will be 15 years, but it may be shortened, for example because of the driver’s health.
Therefore, all drivers with unlimited driving licences will have to replace their documents. We remind you that the completed driving licence replacement application form must be accompanied by:
- a current photograph measuring 35x45 mm;
- proof of payment for issuing a new driving licence;
- a copy of the current driving licence or its original for inspection;
- an identity card for inspection;
- a medical certificate, if required;
- a declaration confirming that the applicant has read the contents of Article 233 of the Criminal Code (available at the office).
