The upcoming parliamentary elections and their fair conduct were the subject of a press conference attended by Piotr Borys, an MP from Platforma Obywatelska. The MP encouraged people to apply to election commissions in order to monitor the conduct of the elections.

Meanwhile, Przemysław Godek, deputy chair of Bolesławiec PO and coordinator of the trip to the Million Hearts March, encouraged people to sign up to participate in the march. The march is to take place on 1 October in Warsaw.

MP Piotr Borys:

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in Bolesławiec today, visiting all the counties in order to encourage all citizens and county residents, on the eve of the announcement of the parliamentary elections, to get involved in election commissions. Our “monitor the elections” campaign is aimed at all those who want to ensure that the votes are counted fairly. We encourage everyone to visit our website, pilnujewyborow.pl

(...) In Poland, we have nearly 2,000 commissions, and we want to appoint a commission member and a so-called trusted representative to each one. This means that we really need more than 60,000 committed people throughout Poland. As a committee, we will nominate these people. Ensuring that the votes are counted fairly is crucial to us, so that suspicious situations, which we have often heard about, do not occur.

(...) We are also conducting this campaign through you, reaching all those who will have time on election day to work and keep watch over everyone, because citizens must be confident that the votes will be counted fairly. The votes must be counted fairly, although in our view this will be an unequal campaign. There is no doubt that PiS will want to combine the so-called referendum on refugees as an instrument in the hands of the government. These will be uncontrolled expenditures of hundreds of millions of zlotys, which will be incurred alongside the election campaign.
