Teacher Wojciech Tarczyński and a group of children decided to use bottles and waste collected at the ZUOK in Trzebień to make an eco-bench themselves. It will be presented during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival in the Glina Show town. This year, in the Glina Show town on Bankowa Street (the city pond), we are promoting ecology, waste sorting and the art of recycling.
The project involves pupils of Primary School No. 4, Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej w Bolesławcu and members of the boleslawianie.eu association. The eco-bench will be available to admire from 19 August, and visitors will even be able to sit on it, its creators say. The ecological and recycled elements of the bench are intended to remind us that, by loving our place on Earth, we also take care of sorting waste and using it in recycling.

Residents are required to collect the following waste separately:
- paper
- glass
- metals
- plastics
- multimaterial packaging waste
- biowaste
For this purpose, containers (or bags) in specific colours are used: yellow (metals, plastics, multimaterial packaging waste), blue (paper), green (glass) and brown (biowaste).
Other waste, such as:
- kitchen waste of animal origin, e.g. meat and cold cuts
- hygiene products (e.g. disposable nappies and personal hygiene products)
- rubber and latex gloves
- faience, porcelain and broken dishes
- wet, greasy paper
- ordinary light bulbs
- toys (plush and rubber)
- thermal paper (e.g. fiscal receipts) and fax paper
- heat-resistant and shatterproof glass
- should be collected in black or grey containers.
A curiosity from our neighbourhood: the white garbage truck
Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej Spółka z o.o. w Bolesławcu purchased a Renault garbage truck with a capacity of 22 m³ for PLN 800,000 in June 2023. This is part of a plan to renew the vehicle fleet, take even better care of the environment and make the work of employees of Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej easier.

- the modern vehicle has a universal rear loading device for containers from 60 to 1,100 litres,\is equipped with a reversing camera, which significantly increases
- employee safety during waste collection and transport,
- meets the highest exhaust-emission standard for environmental protection,
- has an emergency braking signal, with the hazard lights activated automatically
