The BKS Bobrzanie senior team begins its league campaign on August 14 at 11:00. In the first match, the team will face Kuźnia Jawor in Bolesławiec. We spoke with BKS coach Marcin Ciliński about preparations for the new IV-league season.

Marcin Zabawa: Please tell us, how did the preparation season go?
Marcin Ciliński: The season was very short; we had very little time. It is different when you already have a team and bring in two or three players—two or three reinforcements—and the core of the team is in place. Now we are practically building everything from scratch. There are so many new players because only four or five footballers from last season’s core remain. I took them into consideration. We are constantly looking for the optimal solution. We had four weeks to prepare. The current preparation period was different from the previous ones. Before, we played more matches.

What are the goals for the new season?
Everyone knows what the goals are. Bolesławiec have been knocking on the door of the higher league for many seasons. Last season was not entirely what everyone would have wished for. Previously, when I was the coach [BKS Bobrzanie – przyp. red.], the chance of promotion was also wasted. At that time, many teams were promoted, and they are all playing in the third league. However, I would not want people to put us under enormous pressure. We are building a new team. It is interesting; there are a few notable names.

What about the cup matches?
We will go and play normally with our strongest lineup. Of course, the players who have completed their transfers will play. Not everyone who played in the friendly matches will be available.

Exactly—who is already a confirmed reinforcement for BKS?
Certainly Emil Nowakowski, Robert Gajewski, Łukasz Filipiak and Sebastian Gogut. I would like Ariel Sworacki, Karol Bednarowski and Łukasz Polański to join the team. I would also like Józek Pietrzak to play. Józek is an experienced player. At Chrobry Nowogrodziec, he was essentially the one holding the entire defensive line together. In the friendly match [z Twardym Świętoszów – przyp. red.] he came on in the second half and immediately calmed the game down. There is someone else in reserve. For now, I do not want to say exactly who. I can only say that it will be a player who will not have to fight for a place in the lineup. He will be an experienced defender.

Thank you for the interview.
Thank you.

The next player to strengthen the BKS team, after Emil Nowakowski, Robert Gajewski, Łukasz Filipiak and Sebastian Gogut, is Ariel Sworacki. Born in 1987, the player came through the Górnik Polkowice academy and most recently played for Sparta Rudna. He plays as a defender.
