On Wednesday (4 August), BKS played its final friendly match before the regular season. Their opponent was III-league newcomer Twardy Świętoszów. The fans who decided to attend Wednesday's friendly watched an interesting spectacle. The visitors dominated in the first half. The Wojskowi threatened Sebastian Łokaj's goal several times. Sławomir Iskrzak came closest to beating the Bolesławiec goalkeeper. After his free kick, the ball struck the junction of the post and crossbar. Twardy played better, but BKS scored the opening goal. In the 42nd minute, Chrystian Serkies rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball into the net. Two minutes later, the visitors responded with a goal. Unmarked, Sławomir Iskrzak beat the BKS goalkeeper from five metres.
BKS played decisively better in the second half. Faster ball exchanges, accurate passes and dangerous counterattacks paid off in the 70th minute. One of the counterattacks made it 2–1 to BKS. Chrystian Serkies scored again. In the 84th minute, Mateusz Mucha set the final score at 3–1 to BKS. The fans watched a hard-fought game. Both teams fought ambitiously until the referee's final whistle. “Another friendly gave me an idea of the players' performance in some positions. The first half was definitely weaker than the second. We tried playing with a deeper defence. The shifting looked good, apart from some positions. We are looking for a way of playing that makes the game faster, allows us to move the focus of play and simply play—and that was visible in the second half,” commented BKS Bobrzanie coach Marcin Ciliński on Wednesday's match.
Already on Saturday (7 August), BKS will play its first-round match in the Regional Polish Cup. Our team will face local side Łużyce in Lubań. The match is scheduled to begin at 17:00.
