Our readers sent us PiS councillor Dawid Sarbak’s interpellation from April 2021, along with the response from the deputy mayor, and added the following comment:
They keep saying that they (the officials – editor’s note) are carrying out repairs for us, but that is not true! Three years ago, they only painted this equipment and that was it! We also have to ask them to mow the grass. They took the ride-on toy (a children’s swing – editor’s note) away for repairs because it was swinging sideways, and they have been unable to bring it back for TWO years!
Dawid Sarbak, a PiS councillor, addressed a request to Mayor Piotr Roman in April 2021, asking, among other things, for:
- Development of the area next to the playground (covering it with the appropriate type of sand), the car park by buildings 45, 47 and 49, and the volleyball court at the social housing estate on T. Kościuszki Street
- A technical inspection of the playground and additional equipment: installing a second goal on the pitch for playing football, and installing more benches by buildings 45 and 47 and at the car park.
In response, the councillor received a written assurance signed by Deputy Mayor Iwona Mandzuk-Dudek:
At present, no change to the development of the area next to the playground and car park—the area by buildings 45, 47 and 49—is planned to create a volleyball court.
The annual basic inspection of the playground at T. Kościuszki Street was carried out on 8 December 2020; the recommendations were implemented, while any new defects that appear are repaired on an ongoing basis. Broken play equipment is also replaced on an ongoing basis.
A councillor’s interpellation does not necessarily mean that the matter is being dealt with. Parents of children from the estate on Kościuszki Street are informing PiS councillor Dawid Sarbak and Deputy Mayor Iwona Mandzuk-Dudek that their children still do not have a proper playground. And they ask: why is there less of everything for our children? Less money, less interest, less attention to their needs?
