The BKS players approached Saturday’s match against the league leaders – Karkonosze Jelenia Góra – highly motivated. Despite the empty stands (the match was played without spectators), both teams gave their all on the rain-soaked pitch at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street.

The first half featured plenty of physical play in the middle of the pitch. Clear chances were few and far between, and the halftime score reflected that perfectly. 0:0 at the break.

There was more action after the interval. In the 49th minute, BKS won a corner. Jacek Bochnia found himself in an excellent position in front of the visitors’ goal and headed the ball into the net. 1:0 to the hosts. Karkonosze responded with a successful move and a shot by Mateusz Baszak in the 54th minute. The score was 1:1.

In the following minutes, both teams had chances to tip the balance in their favor. One notable move saw Piotr Skiba shoot at the visitors’ goal. The visiting goalkeeper made a very difficult save, after which the ball also struck the post of the Karkonosze goal.

Karkonosze, meanwhile, had a chance after which the ball bounced off the crossbar of Tomasz Hajduczek’s goal. Mateusz Baszak also tried to surprise the BKS goalkeeper with powerful shots, but the ball either sailed over the goal or the BKS keeper stood in its way.

Ultimately, BKS drew 1:1 with Karkonosze Jelenia Góra, and there is no doubt that this was a “winning” draw for the team from Spółdzielcza. The Bolesławiec side made life difficult for the league leaders, ensuring that a point stayed in Bolesławiec—one that could prove its weight in gold in the later battle to avoid relegation from the IV league.

After the match, the BKS players thanked the supporters who cheered the team from behind the stadium fence.
