In June last year, we reported on a hip-hop new style dance show held at the Orzeł cinema. At the time, the participants of the three-day “Bolesławiec Dances” workshop, led by the dancers Agnieszka Nowak, Kamila Osuch and Jordan Czopko, presented their skills. “It was the first time we had the opportunity to lead this kind of class; it was a great experience,” Agnieszka says.
The dancers took perfectly to their new role. They therefore decided to organize the second edition of the “Bolesławiec Dances” workshop. This time, it was led by Agnieszka, Jordan and Marta Hichel, a contemporary dance instructor. “The classes went great,” Jordan emphasizes in a conversation with us. “We managed to accomplish a lot and practice many dance routines,” Marta adds.
The classes were also attended by people who had never danced before. “Before the workshop, people wrote to us saying they were happy that such an initiative had started; that they wanted to begin their adventure with dance but did not know how,” Agnieszka says. “It was great that Agnieszka and Jordan organized another edition of the ‘Bolesławiec Dances’ workshop. Thanks to this project, we had the opportunity to share a part of ourselves with others,” Marta adds.
The young dance students practiced choreographies to songs by Honorata Skarbek, a singer from Zgorzelec. Not by chance. “Jordan and I have started working with Honorata; we will dance on stage during her concerts,” Agnieszka says.
The dancers are now taking a break. Classes will resume in September. “We will get going at full speed,” Agnieszka announces.
Below, we present photographs from Honorata Skarbek’s performance.
