In Matthew, magi sent by Herod make their way to the manger. In Luke, they are Jewish shepherds sent by an angel. So which is it in the end? In Matthew, we have the Star of Bethlehem guiding the magi. In Luke, it is the “light from heaven” shining on the shepherds.
