The event host, starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak, welcomed the guests. “There are people in this room today who are able to share themselves and help another person,” he said Tomasz Gabrysiak. “The dreariness of recent years, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine does not prevail because volunteers are active. People who give hope that tomorrow will be better,” the starosta added.
Tomasz Gabrysiak stressed that the most important thing is that one person is good to another, and that this is an invaluable value. “We have a host of people helping war refugees and Poles abroad. Bolesławiec is a city of people who want to help,” the starosta concluded his speech.
Six award-winning and five distinguished male and female volunteers stood on the podium. Applause was given to all nominees for the volunteer award.
