The European Muay Thai Championships were held in Velletri, Italy, from May 25 to 30. Among the participants was Dominik Zadora from the Bolesławiec Muay Thai Club. Nearly 200 bouts were held over the course of five days, almost all of them at a very high level.

Dominik, competing in the up-to-75 kg category, faced a representative of Spain in his first bout. The Bolesławiec fighter controlled the contest throughout. After four exciting rounds, the judges unanimously declared our fighter the winner.

Unfortunately, during the bout Dominik’s foot and knee injuries, sustained at the Polish Championships, flared up again. Despite this, the BKMT fighter took part in another bout, in which he faced a decorated representative of Ukraine.

This was a fight for a place in the medal zone. Both competitors were determined to win, which was apparent from the first seconds of the bout. Both fighters showered each other with a barrage of punches and kicks. From the middle of the first round, Dominik’s advantage over the Ukrainian grew clearly. In the second round, the Bolesławiec fighter put everything on the line and tried to finish the bout early. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian bravely repelled Dominik’s attacks. Although the BKMT fighter won the second round, it turned out that he would be unable to continue the bout because of a fractured metatarsal and a damaged meniscus.

The Polish national team won seven medals in Italy, including one gold and two silver.

BKMT President Krzysztof Brzymowski thanks Adrian Krzystanek “for his tremendous help, without which Dominik’s trip to the European Championships would not have taken place.” The editors of IstotneInformacje.pl wish the Bolesławiec Muay Thai Club fighter a speedy recovery.
