Hortex Kusy are young players aged 17 and 18, along with two twenty-year-olds. The team’s name comes from its sponsor (Hortex) and its patron, Janusz Kusociński. It was through ties with the "Kusy" Students’ Sports Club that the boys began their adventure in the county football league. A year ago, they played under the name FC Kusy juniors and ended their debut season in third place in their group—satisfying, although leaving them slightly disappointed (including a draw with a team represented by BKS senior players). This year, there was only one goal...
And, as it turned out, the team achieved that goal. Hortex Kusy secured promotion to the first division of indoor football with eight wins and one draw. Together with the Military Unit’s team, they did not lose a single match. However, it was Hortex Kusy who earned direct promotion, while the military team still has to compete in the playoffs.
"At times it was incredibly difficult, but through determination and youthful enthusiasm, we managed to emerge victorious from many difficult situations," says Przemek Filipowicz, one of Hortex Kusy’s players.
