Wednesday’s match in Bolesławiec could be described as a rainy thriller. BKS, close to the relegation zone, hosted Kobierzyce, who were fighting to remain in the fourth division. For both teams, it was a match worth the proverbial six points. The visitors attacked from the first minutes, but BKS took the lead. In the 9th minute, Chrystian Serkies scored to make it 1–0. The visitors responded in the 14th minute with an inaccurate shot by Piotr Marek.

The early goal gave our team confidence, and BKS attacked with increasing boldness and threat. In the 17th minute, after a good pass from Kamil Mielnik, Chrystian Serkies extended the lead to 2–0. From that moment, the Bolesławiec team’s advantage was indisputable. It could have been 3–0 in the 20th minute. Łukasz Graczyk played a well-timed pass to the scorer of the previous two goals. Unfortunately, there was no hat-trick. This time, Chrystian failed to beat the visiting goalkeeper. A few minutes later, the visitors responded dangerously. Adam Kubasiewicz’s shot struck the crossbar of Sebastian Łokaj’s goal.

After the break, Kobierzyce launched an assault on the BKS goal. In the 53rd minute, Piotr Mrowiec sent a dangerous header toward goal. Five minutes later, the same player tested Sebastian Łokaj again. In the 63rd minute, Maciej Szubart shot at the BKS goal. The home goalkeeper was not caught off guard. As the visitors attacked with increasing threat, the BKS players began to run out of energy. Perhaps the fatigue from the first half, played at a fast pace, began to show. The constantly falling rain also made play more difficult.

The visitors’ pressure paid off in the 77th minute. Maciej Szubart scored a headed consolation goal following a set piece. After conceding, BKS’s play “fell apart.” Two minutes later, the visitors followed up and Piotr Mrowiec equalized. The Bolesławiec players rallied to make up the deficit. A minute later, Chrystian Serkies found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, the visiting keeper came out on top. The score did not change for the rest of the match. BKS drew 2–2 with GKS Kobierzyce. The visitors won the draw; BKS lost the victory.

The point earned moved our team from 11th to 10th place in the league table. BKS played better than in previous matches, but a moment of lost concentration in the second half led to the draw. It is encouraging that Chrystian Serkies scored twice. Perhaps this was the moment when the BKS striker finally broke through and left his poor form behind. The accuracy of the passing is also encouraging. This was especially visible in the first half, when the balls played to the forwards were precise and the attacks threatened the visitors’ goal. BKS will play its next match on June 6 in Wrocław. Our team’s opponent will be bottom-of-the-table Ślęza II Wrocław.

BKS lineup: Łokaj – Bednarz (yellow card), Płachta, Rajchel, Kumoś, Szymański (77' Nitarski), Klimas, Mucha, Mielnik (yellow card), Graczyk (yellow card) (70' Głowacki), Serkies.
