The District Court in Jelenia Góra has issued a verdict in the trial of a man suspected of paedophilia. The man was a coach in orienteering.

Romuald O., a former cross-country coach who trained children and young people from the Jelenia Góra area, was arrested in September 2021 and placed in custody. At the time, prosecutor Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, confirmed that the man was suspected of using violence and deception to make a minor under the age of 15 submit to other sexual acts.

In September, the Jelenia Góra court issued its verdict. The man was found guilty of paedophilic acts against four minors under the age of 15. One of the minors was allegedly raped by the man. The former orienteering coach was sentenced to a total of 6 years and 6 months in prison.

As we read on the jelonka.com website:

(...) The man was also given a number of additional penalties, including a lifetime ban on practising any profession involving work with, education of or care for minors, a ban on approaching the victims, and an order to pay them compensation.
