SamePlusy is a collective operating within the Kongres Świeckości association and the Ogólnopolski Strajk Kobiet. The project of the same name is the implementation of the National Apostasy initiative, formulated in response to demands raised by protesters opposing the violation of women’s and LGBT+ rights, the spread of fascism, the destruction of the state’s constitutional foundations and the advancing clericalization of society.
On its Facebook page, the SamePlusy collective describes its goals and the aims of the campaign as follows:
Our campaign is a response to numerous shocking media reports about what children are actually being taught in classes that are not subject to the Ministry of National Education’s oversight. Not love of one’s neighbor, but hatred—of LGBT+ people, feminists and non-believers. It also teaches prejudice against anyone perceived as different, the objectification of animals, the denial of facts, living in constant fear and guilt, thoughtless obedience and shifting responsibility for one’s own actions. We do not accept this spreading of hatred, dividing society into better and worse people, or promoting antisocial attitudes—and that is precisely what happens in catechism classes. That is why we strongly encourage parents to stop sending their children to these classes, which are not compulsory—for now.
