During this year’s festival, stalls featuring bread baked goods and stalls with homemade meat products were presented. The tables displayed by village councils, rural housewives’ associations and folk groups from throughout the region were laden with fresh, fragrant loaves of bread. Many varied traditional baked goods, made according to old recipes, could be sampled during the 25th edition of the Bread Festival in Milików.

In addition to culinary experiences, the event also featured stage performances by invited guests, which enhanced the shared celebrations. It is worth noting that on this day the residents of Milików hosted the vocal groups “Wspólna Wędrówka” and “Jedna Rodzina” from Ukraine, the folk groups “Milikowanki” with the Milików Band, “Gościszowanie” with the Gościszów Band, “Rząsinianki” from Rząsiny, “Rozmaryn” from Bogatynia, “Działoszynianie” from Działoszyn, “Jarzębina” from Zawidów, “Lasowianie” from Pieńsk, “Żeliszowianie” from Żeliszów, “Cisowianki” from Henryków, “Marysieńki” from Radostów, “Sołtysowe Gryfinki” from Proszówka and “My Słowianie” from Osła. The event concluded with a magnificent performance by the well-known and widely recognized disco polo group “Cliver”.
Nowogrodziec Municipality on the Bread Festival
For 25 years, the Bread Festival has been held in Milikowo—a celebration of traditional bread baking that enjoys great popularity among audiences and has become a permanent part of our municipality’s cultural life. The Municipal Bread Festival refers to the promotion of old culinary traditions and the dissemination of regional cultural heritage. Its aim is to promote folklore associated with the tradition of bread baking, preserve the tradition of baking bread in accordance with the knowledge passed down by ancestors, and nurture the cultural identity of rural residents.
