Police publish a map of fatal road accidents during the summer holidays on their websites as a warning. By August 13, 263 fatal road accidents had occurred on roads throughout Poland. In Lower Silesian Voivodeship, there had been 19 such incidents.
Fortunately, no fatal road accident has occurred in Bolesławiec County so far.

This is already the fourth edition of the road safety project entitled “Fatal Road Accidents – Summer 2022,” which has received a positive public response and considerable media interest.

As in previous years, every day throughout the summer holidays, the policja.pl website, social media and websites administered by Police units present a map of Poland showing the number of fatal road accidents, together with information about the incident—namely, its location, general information about the number of victims, the type of road user involved and the type of incident—from the previous 24 hours and since the start of the summer holidays.
The ongoing updating of the map, including its visual presentation, is intended to draw attention to the scale of the tragedies occurring on Polish roads, encourage road users to reflect, and prompt the media to discuss road safety.
It should be remembered that behind every point marked on this map lies a human tragedy. Every act of ignoring the regulations, even one that may seem trivial, as well as recklessness or disregarding drowsiness or fatigue, can cause a tragedy on the road (...)
