The incident occurred on Saturday, July 23. Volunteer firefighters from Krzyżowa:
(...) at 5:43 p.m. we were dispatched to a stubble fire in Chościszowice.
They added:
When the first units from JRG BOLESŁAWIEC arrived, it turned out that green areas and stubble were on fire. The JRG units brought the spread of the fire under control and prevented it from developing further, while our task was to thoroughly extinguish the fire site using a rapid attack line and vehicle-mounted sprinklers.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. Firefighters from Bolesławiec (3 units), Krzyżowa, Brzeźnik and Różyniec, as well as the police, took part in the operation. The police are investigating the cause of the incident.
