During a kayaking trip, a rare rocket projectile was found in the riverbed of the Bóbr River in Kraszowice. Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
Explosive object recovered:
- air-to-ground aircraft rocket projectile
- type: S-3K
- caliber: 127 mm
- length: 1,500 mm (150 cm).
The bomb disposal specialists explain: – S-3K projectiles were successors to RS-132 rocket projectiles (that is, a modified version of the M-13 projectiles used in BM-13 rocket launchers, the so-called KATYUSHAS).
The Bomb Disposal Patrol also disposes of explosive objects found underwater. The soldiers say: – If it is not possible to remove the unexploded ordnance using our own resources, we ask for the support of our Mine Clearance Diver colleagues. (In our case, these are divers from the 41st Demining Team of the Mine Clearance Divers Group, the 12th Minesweeper Squadron, and the 8th Coastal Defence Flotilla from Świnoujście).
