Roksana Jędrzejewska-Wróbel is a doctor of literature by training and, by passion, an author of books for children. Her stories can be read in “Miś” and “Świerszczyk”. For several years, she wrote columns for the monthly magazine “Dziecko”. Together with her three children—Marianna, Wojtek and Hania—she lives in a pre-war tenement house in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz. She loves travelling, cycling trips, the beach and water in every form.
She has written more than twenty books for young children. Her works have been included on the Treasures List of the Museum of Children’s Books and on the Golden List of the “ABCXXI – All of Poland Reads to Children” Foundation. She collaborates with the children’s editorial team of Polish Radio. For TVP 1, she wrote scripts and song lyrics for the bedtime television programme “Babcia Róża i Gryzelka”. In 2007, she received the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
Her works include “Oto jestem” (a story about the first months of human life), “Rynny”, “Lucjan – lew jakiego nie było” (a therapeutic fairy tale addressed to children staying in oncology wards), “Kamienica”, “Sznurkowa historia”, “Gębolud”, “Królewna”, “Florka. Z pamiętnika ryjówki” and “Kosmita” (a book about an autistic boy).
