Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec County starosta, during the March session of the County Council:
From April 1 the hospital will treat stroke patients; the contract has been expanded.
And he added:
In short, patients who come to our hospital and are diagnosed as having suffered a stroke will no longer have to be transported to other medical facilities, for example in Legnica or Zgorzelec, but will be treated here, in Bolesławiec.
That is not the end of the good news. Also from April 1, all people who want to undergo a CT scan, magnetic resonance imaging scan or an X-ray will be able to do so free of charge. (This will be financed from National Health Fund funds.) Of course, a doctor's referral will be necessary in these cases.
The starosta summed it up as follows:
It took some time, but the end result makes it all worthwhile.
