The incident took place on Saturday, 27 March, in the afternoon. GOPR Karkonosze:

[…] the duty rescuer received a report about 6(!) German citizens, accompanied by three dogs and a child and... a stroller, getting stuck on the Jubilee Road on the slopes of Śnieżka.

Four teams were dispatched, including one supported by rescuers from the Czech Republic.

Rescuers from GOPR Karkonosze:

Let us remember that despite high temperatures, snow cover in the highest mountain areas is still very deep, and the restrictions related to the closure of trails due to avalanche danger remain in force.

Therefore, let us remember to plan our route carefully.

They also add:

Let us also remember that sudden weather changes may occur during the day, in the form of strong winds, cloud cover and falling temperatures.

Let us be prepared for this!

The incident described above resulted from a poorly planned route, a sudden deterioration in the weather and inadequate preparation for winter conditions.
