Older people value clear communication above all when dealing with banks. They do not like it when something is written unclearly and, when they see complicated language, they often give up on the products or services offered. Easy access to information and the ability to read it freely are also very important to them. Older people’s eyes tire very quickly, which means that much of the data written in small print may escape their notice. For these reasons, choosing a bank for a senior should not be left to chance.
Which bank offers an account for seniors?
Although Polish society is ageing and the number of seniors is growing day by day, few banks meet their needs. Among the companies that have decided to make an offer directly to this group of customers, only Bank Pocztowy stands out.
Older people can open a free personal account there, provided that a benefit from Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych is paid into the bank account every month. Otherwise, the bank will charge PLN 5 for maintaining the account. An additional fee of PLN 2 will also have to be paid for ATM withdrawals.
Other companies offer traditional personal accounts that are available to everyone—not only seniors. The following have particularly attractive offers for older people:
- Nest Bank with its “Nest Konto” account—it is a completely free personal account, so there is no need to worry about additional costs related, for example, to cash withdrawals or maintaining the account,
- Alior Bank with its “Konto Jakże Osobiste” service—the institution offers free account maintenance provided that at least PLN 1,500 is paid into it every month. Cash withdrawals from ATMs are also free, but only for the first three transactions. Each subsequent withdrawal costs PLN 6,
- PKO Bank Polski with its “Konto za zero” account—in this bank, maintaining a personal account and making withdrawals at ATMs and branches are free of charge.
It is worth remembering that many banks waive fees if the relevant conditions are met. Therefore, it is worth carefully analysing all the offers available on the market.
Which bank should a senior choose?
Are you looking for a suitable bank for an older person? Check the senior accounts on finanse.rankomat.pl. On the website, you will find an easy-to-use comparison tool for personal accounts, with information about fees for:
- maintaining the account
- a debit card
- withdrawals from domestic and foreign ATMs.
Additionally, each offer includes a list of benefits resulting from opening the account. You can find information there about access to a mobile app, the interest rate on a savings account, as well as additional bonuses available for opening an account. Thanks to the clear presentation of the data, you can easily check which company offers the best terms and choose the most advantageous account for a senior.
There is currently only one offer on the market available exclusively to older people. However, it is worth remembering that traditional personal accounts work just as well, especially since many of them provide very attractive terms. Compare them and decide which one is best for a senior.
