The Bolesławiec City Hall and the Municipal Public Library organized a contest for residents before the winter holidays for the most beautiful illumination. Through the contest, the organizers wanted to encourage residents to beautify their properties, houses and apartments for the holidays.
“I am very happy that my ‘balcony of truth’ was recognized as one of the most beautiful illuminations in Bolesławiec,” says Kinga. “I installed the entire decoration myself. It was not an easy task. I even made a special outlet on the balcony. I remember installing and switching on eight snowflakes on the evening of December 1. It happened while the Sejm was considering a shameful bill concerning human rights, which should never have been read in the Sejm! Angry, I went out onto the balcony and began hanging eight illuminated stars, one after another. I did it precisely and evenly. I had to carefully plan the number of extension cords and plugs for the sockets. On December 6, I added a Christmas tree to the decoration—a symbol of hope. Then I added more colors and a rainbow chain of lights. Beautiful and with a message. When I learned on the istotne.pl portal that the contest had been announced, I immediately decided to take part. During the holiday season, when I drove around Bolesławiec with the children, my sons told me every day that they could not see a balcony anywhere as beautiful as ours and that we would definitely win. Today, when we found out that we had won second place, the boys said that our balcony was still the most beautiful,” the activist adds.
Kinga will use the PLN 300 voucher at the PSB Mówka store in Bolesławiec, the sponsor of the prizes.
Congratulations on the prize—we look forward to seeing how Kinga decorates her balcony in spring.
