A hard-fought draw—that is how Saturday’s match between BKS Bobrzanie’s senior team and relegation-threatened Polonia Środa Śląska can be summed up. Although the beginning of the match may have given Bolesławiec supporters reason for optimism, as time passed our team’s play became increasingly nervous and chaotic. In the first 15 minutes, Adam Klimas twice shot at the visitors’ goal. The visiting goalkeeper was not caught off guard. In the 16th minute, Chrystian Serkies was fouled in Polonia’s penalty area. Mateusz Mucha converted the penalty. A few minutes later, Chrystian Serkies squandered a good scoring opportunity. Shortly afterwards, the visitors equalised with a rebound by Daniel Liberka.
The rest of the match was a festival of missed scoring opportunities by BKS. Our players seemed not to know exactly how they should play. In addition, their passes lacked precision and they lacked speed. Krzysztof Szymański, Adam Popecki and Chrystian Serkies had chances to score. Unfortunately, our players’ shots were too weak or were blocked by defenders. In the 39th minute, Adam Klimas handled the ball in the BKS penalty area. The referee immediately pointed to the spot, and Patryk Mirkowski confidently converted the penalty. The first half ended with the visitors leading 2–1.
At the beginning of the second half, the supporters saw a third penalty. This time, a visiting player handled the ball. Chrystian Serkies scored from the spot to make it 2–2. Those were all the goals of Saturday’s match. Play remained even until the end of the second half. BKS goalkeeper Sebastian Łokaj saved several dangerous shots. BKS also had good scoring opportunities. Near the end of the match, Robert Nitarski and Łukasz Graczyk narrowly missed.
BKS played with: Łokaj - Płachta, Kumoś, Klimas, Janicki (69' Kozak), Bednarz, Mucha, Jasiński (46' Nitarski), Szymański (80' Graczyk), Popecki (46' Szajwaj), Serkies.
