On the 40th anniversary of these events, on 11 December 2021, a commemorative evening was held in the conference room of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. It was organised at the initiative of one of the heroes of those days, Jan Filipek.

In accordance with the organiser’s wishes, the event was dedicated to the memory of those who, in 1980, founded NSZZ “Solidarity” in Bolesławiec County, operated in underground structures and independent organisations during martial law, and rebuilt the Union in 1989.

Meanwhile, on 13 December 2021, at 6:00 p.m., a solemn Mass for the Homeland will be held at the Church of Christ the King on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec.
