The football team made up of county, city and municipal councillors is one of the better teams of its kind in the country. Last year, the local councillors won the Lower Silesian championship title, while in the Polish championship they finished among the top ten teams.
One way of building team cohesion is for the players to participate in the County Indoor Football League. The team also takes part in events organised by other local governments and in those whose proceeds are donated to charitable causes.
"At the beginning of February, we will defend the Lower Silesian Champions title in Środa Śląska," says county governor Krzysztof Konopka. Then comes the biggest test. In April, the team will compete in Wieluń for the title of Polish Champions.
