At the latest edition of Mr. Olympia, the world’s most prestigious bodybuilding competition, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger himself triumphed many times, Bolesławiec native Jolanta Anasiewicz won the gold medal! As she wrote on her Facebook profile:
There is something inexplicable and almost magical about the feeling of achieving the goal of Mr. Olympia 2021, which at one point seemed impossible to me: “the higher the mountain, the better the view.”
Weightlifting may mean little in the grand scheme of things, but it reveals what I am made for and gives me the courage I need to aim higher in other aspects of my life.

Despite her age, she is a woman with extraordinary energy, which younger colleagues may well envy. She began working as a trainer in 1989. In Bolesławiec, she was the first person to lead aerobics classes. She still does so today. From 1994 to 2000, she trained in powerlifting and was called up to the national team. She won the Polish Championship three times. Several years ago, she returned to strength sports—Bench Press—and is a PRO competitor. She is currently the sixth-strongest woman in the world.
