On Friday (19 February), a press conference was held at the headquarters of the Bolesławiec Abstainers’ Association “Przemiana”. Its subject was the charity football match “Przemiana” and Friends vs the Polish Artists’ National Team, scheduled for 26 June. The conference guest was actor Jarosław Jakimowicz– a representative of the artists’ team. The conference guests were welcomed by Andrzej Galant, President of BSA “Przemiana”. “All proceeds from the match will go to children from the rehabilitation centre on Parkowa Street and children from the special school in Bolesławiec,” Andrzej Galant announced. The president of “Przemiana” thanked both the city and county authorities for their involvement. “In 2001 [wówczas także rozgrywano mecz charytatywny z udziałem artystów przyp. red.] I was left alone, although the promises from the city were great. Now the response from both the city and the county office was immediate [...]. Today we are not alone. ‘Przemiana’ is organising the match, but in reality the organisers are the city, the county and all of us. We care about the children’s welfare. It is worth giving up this time to see the joy and smiles of these children. Everyone who comes and buys an admission ticket will help the children,” Galant added.

Jarosław Jakimowicz recalled that the artists’ national team had already played a match in Bolesławiec in 2001. The actor spared no compliments for Andrzej Galant. “I know how difficult it is to organise such a match. How difficult it is to get everyone together. Even us artists, so that we train and travel to such away matches. Everyone is busy,” Jakimowicz said. The actor also admitted that the appearance of Deputy Mayor Maciej Małkowski had made him concerned. “The deputy mayor made me a little nervous [...]. City authorities are associated with bellies, older and balding gentlemen, but here we have a deputy mayor who is going to run onto the pitch and will not be an easy ‘morsel’ to beat,” he stated. Maciej Małkowski, meanwhile, admitted that both he and the Bolesławiec team still had to train because he intended to win. The Deputy Mayor of Bolesławiec gave Jarosław Jakimowicz a ceramic mug and publications about our city.
