On the night of 2 June 2019, 31-year-old Damian W. fired shots at people with a self-loading rifle and shot one of the security guards. Last week, the court handed down its verdict, sentencing the man to two years in prison and ordering him to pay PLN 10,000 to the injured security guard. The prosecutor and the legal counsel representing the injured man will appeal the verdict.

– My client does not agree with the verdict – says Wojciech Kasprzyk. – We will file an appeal. We demanded nine years in prison and PLN 100,000 in compensation for harm that cannot be quantified: pain, surgeries, recovery, as well as the fact that the injured man is suffering a mental breakdown as a result of being shot. In our view, the sentence is far too lenient, and we are counting on justice from the court of appeal – the lawyer adds.

Let us recall that two years ago Damian W. arrived at a nightclub in Bolesławiec accompanied by other men. Witnesses said the men were powerfully built, dressed in expensive designer clothes and covered in gold chains. The group stood out. The men were reportedly bothering people, which is why the security guards from Imperium took an interest in them. While the group was being removed from the building, Damian W. pulled out a firearm in the car park and fired shots at a security guard and several other people.

Below is video footage from two years ago showing the 29-year-old being taken to the police station in Bolesławiec.
