The Mayor of Bolesławiec, Piotr Roman, during Wednesday’s session of the Bolesławiec City Council:

There is a whole campaign promoting vaccinations. I received an order—from the voivode, in accordance with the law—to carry out this vaccination promotion campaign.

And he added:

Bolesławiec does not look bad: more than 36 percent of people are vaccinated here, but Wrocław, for example, already has 46 percent of its residents vaccinated. One thing must be remembered: municipalities where residents have low vaccination rates may be closed down more quickly. This is the government’s announcement: lockdowns may affect those municipalities whose residents have low vaccination rates.

He also stressed:

Together with the county governor, we have done a great deal to organize vaccinations. But we are already seeing certain downward trends in the number of people who want to register for vaccination.

The mayor noted that, in terms of the percentage of vaccinated people, the Municipality of Bolesławiec ranks around 40th in Lower Silesia. He immediately pointed out that this was not about competition, but about the fact that, in his opinion, there are still people in the county who would like to get vaccinated but do not know how to do it. (These are isolated people, people living alone, and those who have no one to help them.)

And he appealed to the councillors to help promote the vaccination campaign:

I expect that in September we will have a mini-lockdown or increased restrictions resulting from a rise in infections.

What do you think?
