The incident took place on Friday, January 8. – We were returning from school by PKS bus – our Reader recounts. – At one point, the driver said that everyone sitting at the back of the vehicle had to get off.
Below, we present a video recorded by our Reader.
The boy claims that the man threw the students off the bus simply because they were talking too loudly. The driver addressed the young passengers using vulgar language and shouted at them. – This was not the first incident of this kind – the Reader stresses. – During that week, the man threw us off the bus three times. After the latest incident, I decided that I would not let the matter go. If children bother this driver so much, perhaps he should not be driving them – he adds.
That day, the students walked home. Some of them had 2.5 km to cover.
We asked Bolesław Dziedzic, PKS Bolesławiec’s director of passenger transport, to comment on the matter.
STATEMENT
On January 8, 20010, students from Gimnazjum w Iwinach used a mobile phone to record a video purportedly showing the bus driver behaving improperly […]. However, the recording does not present the full picture of the situation. According to the driver’s account, he was provoked by students who had previously used vulgar terms toward him and his family. In addition, [uczniowie] they damaged property, namely the bus’s equipment.
At first, the driver asked a student to leave the vehicle at a stop, but this resulted in increasingly severe insults. Everyone’s patience has its limits.
The purpose of the recorded video was undoubtedly to make a tasteless joke humiliating the driver. If he had indeed been responsible for the entire incident, the video’s author could – and should even – have contacted PKS, asking for the matter to be clarified. Instead, he sent you an excerpt from the video slandering the good name of a conscientious employee and thereby undermining the professionalism of the company. […]
It is obvious that the driver should not have risen from behind the wheel, even when provoked by vulgar language. However, his duties include transporting passengers safely as well as taking care of the vehicle’s condition. Therefore, the driver’s behavior was understandable.
Finally, I declare that, in connection with the incident, the driver was instructed regarding his duty to behave properly toward passengers. I expect appropriate consequences to also be imposed on the middle-school students who provoked the entire situation.
