The competition was organized by the Lower Silesian Superintendent of Education, the Board of the Wrocław Branch of the Association of Siberian Exiles, and the Wrocław Association for the Remembrance of Siberian Deportees. The aims of the competition were:
- to promote knowledge among children and young people about the fate of Poles in 1939–1956,
- to strengthen patriotic attitudes and a sense of national identity,
- to develop children’s and young people’s passion for research and creative talent
- to seek historical truth.
Students of Primary School No. 1 named after Janusz Kusociński were honored in the category for grades VI–VIII: artwork – poster:
- Katarzyna Łysakowska – second place,
- Hanna Czochara – third place,
- Gabriela Bachmatiuk – honorable mention.
