– Officers of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław inspected trucks entering Poland on the A4 motorway towards Jędrzychowice. While checking a tractor-trailer transporting Mauser-type containers, officers found 22,280 litres of petroleum-based liquid with the consistency and smell of diesel fuel – reports Sebastian Polański of the Lower Silesian KAS.
He adds:
Under the Act on the monitoring system for road and rail transport of goods, the transport of this type of goods through the territory of the Republic of Poland must be reported in the Electronic Transport Supervision System (SENT).
What was discovered?
After testing samples of the liquid, a mobile laboratory confirmed that it was goods subject to the SENT monitoring system. Due to the lack of the required notification, the means of transport and the containers with the liquid were detained until the status of the transported goods was regularized. The driver received a PLN 7,500 fine, while the transport company faces a financial penalty of PLN 30,000.
