Kamil Barczyk has managed the facility since June 2019. The justification for granting the award states:
Since taking up the position, using innovative hospital management techniques, he has introduced a number of new solutions that have significantly improved the hospital’s previous operations. In particular, the hospital in Bolesławiec is one of the few in Poland to comprehensively provide medical services related to the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, including its own diagnostic imaging and a modern molecular PCR diagnostics laboratory established through the director’s efforts. Three swab ambulances and twelve swab collection points have been created for COVID-19 diagnostics.
As part of comprehensive care for patients affected by COVID-19, Bolesławiec has an infectious diseases ward, a temporary hospital and, during periods of increased incidence, an isolation facility. It should be emphasized that Mr Kamil Barczyk, despite the ongoing epidemic, is modernizing and equipping the hospital with the necessary diagnostic equipment and expanding the range of medical services, including by employing highly qualified staff, which is the most important factor in increasing the facility’s potential.
In addition to the organizational aspect, the significant improvement in the hospital’s financial situation in 2020 should be noted. The positive financial result makes it possible to further develop the hospital and repay its liabilities more quickly. In particular:
- net profit for 2020 amounted to PLN 13,285,118.06 (2019 net loss: PLN –2,171,308.95)
- fixed assets in 2020: PLN 46,616,084.80 (2019: PLN 23,970,561.09)
- loans and borrowings in 2020: PLN 5,544,554.14 (2019: PLN 8,149,748.04)
- revenue in 2020: PLN 100,932,000.89 (2019: PLN 57,618,169.52)
- grants and donations in 2020: PLN 31,696,086.77 (2019: PLN 4,775,558.15).
Kamil Barczyk will receive an annual award equal to three times his average monthly salary in 2020.
