The first female volunteers with cash-filled collection tins appeared at the Bolesławiec headquarters as early as 11:30 a.m. They were the two youngest girls, Natalia and Sandra Glinieckie, who were collecting under their mother’s supervision. They collected PLN 404.94 and two euros. So far, the record-holder in collecting is Mirosław Sakowski, who collected PLN 1,387.54.

By 4:00 p.m., the Bolesławiec headquarters had collected PLN 12,327 (PLN 8,043 from the collection, PLN 1,120 from auctions, PLN 1,627 from Allegro auctions, and PLN 1,537 in other income).

The collection continues throughout Sunday. Meanwhile, yesterday in Iwiny (Warta Bolesławiecka commune), the cross-country race “A Walk with the Orchestra” was already held as part of WOŚP. Runners competed in three categories: primary schools, middle schools and open. Twenty-nine people started the race, and 27 finished it. Several-degree frost, strong wind and a layer of more than 20 centimetres of fresh snow that was still falling meant that the word “walk” should have been accompanied by the term EXTREME. Entry fees raised PLN 323, which will be donated to WOŚP.

Osiecznica

The groups Rafineria, Nasza Biesiada, Nad Kwisą and Maślaki will perform at the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Osiecznica (starting at 4:00 p.m.). In addition, everyone interested will have the opportunity to go on a sleigh ride.

That day will also feature a first-aid demonstration by the Youth Fire Brigade (under the supervision of Damian Tomiak) and the “Balloons into the Sky” event. The event will end with a fireworks display at 8:00 p.m.

Parowa

The Orchestra will also play in Parowa. The finale will take place at the local Primary School at 4:00 p.m. The programme includes, among other things:

  • a disco
  • a performance by the ADS band
  • a raffle
  • Light to Heaven.
