The search for the man began at around 6:00 p.m. Shortly beforehand, the man had fallen into the Bóbr River. As we learned, he had been taking advantage of the sunny weather. He went to the river with a friend. It was the friend who showed the firefighters the place the man had reached when he fell into the river. Then the water covered him.
The search operation lasted about two hours. The man’s body was recovered 250 metres from the place where he fell into the river (the body was in the river level with the new housing estate near Inna Bajka).
The Bóbr’s water level is high and the water is murky, making the search difficult. A group of divers from Legnica and fire service units from Bolesławiec County were at the scene. Firefighters from the State Fire Service and volunteer fire departments searched the river current from the bridge on Mostowa Street in Bolesławiec to Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka and Trzebień.
