We remove only the damaged compartment. This reflects global trends toward replacing total arthroplasty with procedures that remove as little of the patient’s own joint as possible.
And he adds:
The result is the preservation of the operated joint’s excellent natural stability. Early diagnosis and carrying out the operation as soon as possible are prerequisites for qualifying for the procedure. Patients who qualify must be treated as a priority, because the indications for this minimally invasive procedure disappear over time.
